The WBC interim light heavyweight title will be on the line.
Fight between ex-world light heavyweight champion Alexander Gvozdyk and the holder of the “interim” WBC super middleweight title as an American David Benavidez will take place on June 22. The Ukrainian boxer himself announced this on his Instagram.
The interim WBC light heavyweight title will be at stake in the fight.
The fight will be hosted by the American Houston, as part of the same show with the fight of undefeated Americans Gervonta Davis and Frank Martin in the lightweight division.
Gvozdyk knocked out Brazilian boxer Isaac Rodriguez in his last fight. This is Alexander’s third victory after resuming his career. Prior to this, the Ukrainian knocked out Latvian boxer Richards Bolotniks in the 6th round.
Benavidez fought his last fight in November 2023. David defeated Demetrius Andrade, who refused to continue the fight after the sixth round.
