Head of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili said he believed in a successful review of decisions to exclude Russian wrestlers from the Olympic qualifying tournament.
Earlier, two-time Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Abdulrashid Sadulayev, in an interview with , said that Mamiashvili and the president of the United World of Wrestling (UWW) Nenad Lalovic promised him to talk with the head of the International Committee Olympic (IOC) Thomas Bach on the situation surrounding his exclusion from the Olympic qualifying tournament, which took place in Baku from April 5 to 7. Earlier, Mamiashvili said that five other representatives of the Russian team faced the same sanctions.
“All we can do today is review all decisions regarding all Russian athletes who, for one reason or another, were not allowed access to the pre-Olympic selection sites. This is what we do. That’s all I can say.
