Athletistic/MMA. Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and public figure Jeff Monson has shared the consequences of his decision to renounce his US citizenship.
In 2018, American-born Monson became a Russian citizen and in May 2023 he surrendered his American passport.
“I received a lot of threatening letters from people in America, I lost several friends. Most of my relatives, like my aunts, my uncles, my cousins, no longer communicate with me. I became an outcast in the family circle, but I think it was worth it,” Monson said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
