MMA fighter and kickboxer Konstantin Glukhov said he had passed the Russian language exam and was preparing the necessary documents to apply for Russian citizenship.
Glukhov, 44, has long held a Latvian citizen’s passport, but has repeatedly stated in interviews that he considers himself Russian and does not rule out the possibility of changing his citizenship. In March, the mixed martial arts fighter told he had been granted returnee status.
– I passed – I passed the exam on knowledge of the Russian language. In fact, there were questions about literature, history and law. But for a Russian it is not difficult. Citizens of European countries praised with me. Their spoken language is good, but it was more difficult to get right. I think everyone made it after all.
Now I’m waiting for the paperwork and all the documents to apply for citizenship are ready! — said Glukhov on the Telegram channel.
A fight is scheduled for April 28 between Glukhov and AMC Fight Nights middleweight champion Vladimir Mineev.
