On April 11, the Russian Kickboxing Federation and the Stilobat Group of Companies held the first open “star” training in 2024 for students of the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI). The sports experience was shared by: Konstantin Glukhov, Rodion Sheremet and Tatyana Mikheeva.
The Kickboxing to Universities program was launched a year ago. The first to support the initiative to popularize kickboxing among students were MSTU named after NE Bauman, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg Mining University and MGIMO. Anastasia Yankova, Vladislav Tuinov, Artem Pashporin, Datsi Datsiev, Vladimir Tyurin, Vladislav Tuinov, Islam Murtazaev and Beibulat Isaev explained to the students the intricacies of preparing for competitive exams.
At the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) sports club, Russian ring stars shared their professional kickboxing fighting skills with students. Konstantin Glukhov is a professional kickboxer, winner of the K-1 Grand Prix qualifying tournament (Riga, 2008), winner of the K-1 Grand Prix qualifying tournament (Istanbul, 2010), European champion, Asian champion , world kickboxing champion. Glukhov will perform very soon – on April 28 – at the FKR PRO 9 tournament at the Volga-Sport Arena in Ulyanovsk, where his opponent will be Vladimir Mineev. In a November fight under kickboxing rules, Mineev defeated Ivan Shtyrkov (22-2) by unanimous decision. As for Glukhov, in February he lost to Alexei Stoyan in a kickboxing match at a tournament in Sochi, and last summer, in a dramatic rematch, he beat Mikhail Gazaev according to the rules of the arts mixed martial arts. In total, the most experienced Glukhov has more than a hundred fights in kickboxing and MMA, or more precisely, 81 kickboxing fights, 55 of which he won (including 34 KOs).
Rodion Sheremet is the champion of the Moscow region in kickboxing among professionals, Master of Sports of Russia, champion of the Cup of Russia 2023, champion of Moscow 2022, bronze medalist of the Championship of Russia 2023. Combining performances in amateur kickboxing and professional, Sheremet revealed his fighting technique.
Representative of point fighting, member of the Russian kickboxing team and part-time graduate of MAI, Tatyana Mikheeva spoke about the features of her speed discipline. Tatyana Mikheeva – winner of the Russian Championship (2015, 2019), two-time finalist of the World Cup (2019), bronze medalist of the World Cup (2016), finalist of the Russian Championship (2022, 2023), winner of the international competition “Russia is a sports power” 2022, finalist of the Russia Cup 2022, winner of international competitions – “Open Championship and Championship of SCO countries” 2023.
Lev Mazaraki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Stilobat Group of Companies, member of the Supreme Supervisory Council of the Russian Kickboxing Federation: “As announced at the end of last year, the joint activities of the FKR and the group of Stilobat companies attracting young people to kickboxing and developing physical education among students in 2024 – reaches a new level. A clear course was taken to increase the recognition of our sport in educational institutions, which resulted in a series of master classes for students with the participation of star fighters. This experiment was considered an unequivocal success. This year we are expanding the geography of universities, so the stars of the main events of the Russian Federation will hold open training in the largest regional educational institutions of our country.
