The Ukrainian plans to fight his next fight in July
Tom Leffler promoter of the interim WBC junior middleweight champion Sergei Bogachukbelieves that the Ukrainian is ready to fight with any opponent in his weight category.
“Sergey has gained a lot of experience in his career, especially in his last fight, which lasted 12 rounds and ended with a victory over world-class fighter Brian Mendoza. After this performance, he is ready for any opponent in his division.”
“Sergey gained a lot of popularity with this exciting victory on the big stage in Las Vegas at the T Mobile Arena. His fight was broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, so many people watched it, and he gained many new fans thanks to his powerful style.”
“Sergei has a very exciting style, so it will not be difficult for him to gain fans in the United States. He’s a nice guy and has a lot of knockouts, which the American fans like. We expect even greater victories from Sergei in the future.”
Earlier, Loeffler said that he intended to organize one or two defenses of the interim title for Bogachuk, and then hold a major fight. The Ukrainian’s next fight is planned for July.
Let us remind you that Bogachuk confidently defeated American Brian Mendoza in a fight that took place at the end of March in Las Vegas. At the end of 12 rounds, all judges gave the victory to Bogachuk – 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111.
Sergey won the title of interim WBC champion. The new owner of the full WBC junior middleweight belt is Sebastian Fundora, who defeated Tim Tszyu. After the fight, the American’s promoter Sampson Levkovich said that the priority goal for his protégé is a rematch with Tszyu before meeting Terence Crawford or Errol Spence.
