The first Russian Olympic taekwondo champion Maxim Khramtsov said that in Nizhnevartovsk they began to pay more attention to sports facilities after his victory at the Tokyo Olympics and a corresponding public demand.
In July 2021, Khramtsov won the Tokyo Olympics in the 80 kg category. This is Russia’s first Olympic gold medal in taekwondo.
– After winning the Games, you and your coach asked to pay attention to the sports facilities in your area, the training places did not meet all the requirements. Has anything changed in a year?
Of course, we were heard. A large martial arts center is under construction in Nizhnevartovsk. I don’t remember exactly when it will be built, but soon we will be training in excellent conditions. And not just taekwondo athletes, but also athletes who practice other types of martial arts, Khramtsov said on All for the Match! on MatchTV.
