IBA does not recognize the results of the conference, which changed the head of Ukrainian boxing
President of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine Kirill Shevchenko stated that the elections in February, where he was elected, were legal. According to him, Volodymyr Prodivus, who was previously elected in December 2021, does not have powers from FBU represent Ukraine in international organizations.
“The elections on February 22, 2022 were held legally. Five different law firms handled the paperwork and preparation. The conference was held at the Ministry of Sports of Ukraine”.
“In the first two months of the war, the Ministry of Justice practically did not work, therefore, after all the checks of documents and the legitimacy of the elections, they registered me on 15.06.
The letter to the IBA is also a game of Prodivus, who at the IBA became the deputy rashist of the Kremlin. Prodivus, having influence on the association, signed this paper from the already dismissed official.
“Why didn’t the Kremlin sign the document? Because he understood that the elections were fair and could not interfere in the affairs of the FBU. I’m sure the Kremlin will soon leak Prodivus, because he provided false documents. The Kremlin has elections on the nose, Prodivus only spoils the reputation.”
Earlier, the International Boxing Association (IBA) recognized Volodymyr Prodivus as the legitimate president of the FBU and sent a corresponding letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and the FBU.
On February 22, an extraordinary reporting and election conference of the FBU was held at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. Representatives of 17 regional federations elected Kirill Shevchenko as the new president of the FBU.
On June 20, the Boxing Federation of Ukraine sent an open letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, in which it announced the raider seizure of the organization.
In May, Prodivus joined the IBA Board of Directors. Russian Umar Kremlev was re-elected as the President of the International Boxing Association, however, due to a number of violations, new elections of the head of the organization will be held.
