The rematch will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia
James Ali Bashirformer world heavyweight champion coach Oleksandr Usykcommented on the upcoming rematch of the Ukrainian boxer with Anthony Joshua.
“I don’t think Usyk should have bulked up before his second fight with Joshua. I would like him to stay at natural weight. In fact, Alexander should approach the fight at a weight between 98 and 99 kilograms. I don’t think the bulk will help him knock out Anthony Joshua now. Usyk needs to move in a duel. He’s good at moving, that’s his advantage.”
Earlier, Usyk admitted that the first fight against Joshua was very difficult for both boxers.
On August 20, Usyk will defend the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO championship belts against the background of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, which continues for the 153rd day.
The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place in the city of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). The fight will be broadcast live on the DAZN streaming platform.
Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become world heavyweight champion for the first time.
