British World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Tyson’s Fury is negotiating an exhibition bout with actor and athlete Hafthor Bjornsson, reports Telegraph .
– That would be funny. It would be great to play there in front of, say, 70,000 fans and show him what boxing is, blow him up and knock him out. Right now we’re talking with his team, and that’s definitely something that interests me,” the boxer said.
Bjornsson also confirmed that a fight with Fury is being discussed.
Negotiations are ongoing, but nothing has been finalized yet. I would love to get in the ring and fight him,” the 33-year-old Icelander said.
Bjornsson gained worldwide fame for his role as Gregor Clegane, nicknamed Horus, in the television series Game of Thrones. In 2018 he was recognized as the strongest man in the world, in March he defeated British strongman Eddie Hall in an exhibition fight under boxing rules.
Fury announced his retirement in April this year after beating Britain’s Dillian Whyte. Afterwards, the 33-year-old boxer said he would be ready to return to fighting for the fight with Alexander Usyk if he beat Anthony Joshua again in a rematch. Fury also expressed his willingness to fight Joshua if the fight was a free fight. Fury won 32 out of 33 fights in the professional ring and ended one more fight in a draw.
