Haney: I took Loma’s experience and added it to mine

The American said that he improved his boxing thanks to the fight with the Ukrainian

WBC light welterweight world champion Devin Haney said that he improved his boxing thanks to a fight with the former world champion in three weight categories, Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko.

“I gained so much experience. I took Loma’s experience and added it to my own. And even in my last fight against Prograis, you saw how much better I was in that fight.”

“But that’s what happens when you fight great fighters. You learn, gain experience and become better. So I’m glad I was able to learn from this fight, get the win and move forward.”

Let us remember that in May 2023, Lomachenko lost to Haney in the fight for the title of absolute world champion. Many experts then considered that the result of the fight was unfair. After the defeat, Vasily decided to take a vacation until the end of the year.

Haney will fight Ryan Garcia next on April 20. Haney’s championship belt will be on the line. The boxing evening will take place in Brooklyn, at the Barclays Center.
