The other day the Ukrainian confidently defeated the American Alexander
Ukrainian middleweight boxer Sergey Derevyanchenko (15-5, 10 KOs) commented on the victory over the American Vaughn Alexander (18-11-1, 11 KO).
“I’m always happy to win. I’m back and ready for the next challenges. I don’t know yet when the next fight might be, but I’m ready for any opponent.”
“Alexander is a strong guy, he can take blows to the head well. I didn’t have enough punching power to knock him out like Mike Tyson.”
The confrontation between Derevyanchenko and Alexander took place on the undercard of the fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia. The event took place in New York.
The Ukrainian confidently controlled the course of the fight, and in the eighth round he knocked down his opponent. Alexander finished the fight to the end, but the judges recorded a confident victory for Sergei – three times 100:89.
In his last fight, Derevyanchenko lost to Mexican Jaime Munguia by decision. Sergey was supposed to fight against American Rowdy Montgomery on January 6. However, the Ukrainian was injured and the fight fell through.
Earlier, Derevyanchenko said that he plans to perform in the professional arena for about two more years. The Ukrainian’s main goal is to win the title.
