The promoter of the British world champion does not share the position of WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.
Six judges in a boxing match will not make the fight and its outcome any fairer. So says the respected American promoter Bob Arum.
Tyson Fury’s representative definitely spoke against such innovation during his fight against Alexander Usik.
According to the functionary, he does not share the position of WBC President Mauricio Suleiman.
“This always happens before important matches. Maybe six judges are better than three, but I doubt it. To be honest, no one knows how it will work, because no one has ever done it. But at least, you have to experiment in less notable battles.
With all due respect to my friend Mauricio, he loves boxing and does a lot for the sport, I will not make such changes in this fight. To be honest, I don’t believe that judging will get better if there are more judges,” Arum was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene.
We remind you that Usik’s fight with Fury is scheduled for May 18 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Earlier, the WBC belt was presented, which will be at stake in the Usyk-Fury fight.
