Nine Russian boxers won their quarter-finals on the seventh day of competition at the European Championships in Belgrade (Serbia).
In the completed battles, Edmond Khudoyan (up to 48 kg) beat Jakub Slonimsky (Poland), Dmitry Dvali (up to 54 kg) beat Tamir Galanov (Serbia), Eduard Savin (up to 57 kg) beat Adam Hessiona (Ireland), Vsevolod Shumkov (up to 60 kg) beat Isa Akram (Ireland), Gabil Mamedov (up to 63.5) beat Seydi Nazif from Serbia, Tarkhan Idigov (up to 67 kg) won defeated Janus Karavan (Moldova), Dzhambulat Bizhamov (up to 75 kg) was stronger Davron Bozorova (Moldova) and Saveliy Sadoma (up to 80 kg) won the fight against Marko Simon (Hungary).
Sharabutdin Ataev directly progressed in the weight category up to 86 kg, since his opponent Nikica Radonjic (Croatia) failed at the weigh-in.
The only defeat of the day at this stage was suffered by Vasily Egorov (up to 51 kg) in a duel with Attila Bernartu (Hungary).
The European Boxing Championships take place in Belgrade from April 18 to 28. Russians participate in the tournament with national symbols.
