Russian judokas Kristina Dudina and Ramazan Abdulaev continue to fight for medals at the European Championships.
Dudina, who competes in the under 48 kg category, reached the semi-finals by beating Spaniard Laura Martinez Abelenda and Belgian Ellen Salens.
Abdulaev competes in the weight category up to 60 kg. In the first round he defeated the Ukrainian Nazar Viskov, in the 1/8 finals he was stronger than the Maltese representative James Zahra and in the quarterfinals he lost to the Frenchman Christian Revol. Abdulaev will participate in the repechage tournament, the Russian still has a chance to win bronze.
Four Russians completed their participation in the tournament – Sabina Gilyazova (up to 48 kg), Glafira Borisova (up to 52 kg) and Yago Abuladze (up to 66 kg) were eliminated in the 1/8 finals, Ksenia Galitskaya (up to 57 kg) could not overcome the second round.
The European Judo Championships take place in Zagreb. The Russians are participating in the tournament in neutral status.
