Judoka Dudina talks about his victory at the European Championships: “There is satisfaction, but the realization will come later”

Russian Kristina Dudina, after winning the European Championships in Zagreb, told that she had not yet realized her result.

In the final of the weight category up to 48 kg, 19-year-old Dudina defeated Frenchwoman Blandine Pont. The third place was taken by the representative of Portugal Catarina Costa and Tamar Malka from Israel.

— Do you think you yourself have succeeded? And is there any satisfaction to be gained from it?

— We are satisfied with the result, but the realization always comes later. When you arrive at the hotel and start reading the congratulations, you understand what happened.

— Was the fight with the Israeli woman in 10 seconds your shortest fight of your career?

— Oh, it was probably faster at the Russian Championships, I got there in about seven seconds. I felt a lot for the Israeli woman. There was great motivation to go further. You could say I found the courage. At first I wasn’t very comfortable because I didn’t expect my opponent to drag things out. During the fight, I made a throw, which we agreed with the coach.

— Would you like to win not only the European Championships this year, but also the World Championships and the Olympic Games?

“Everything will definitely happen in the future.” Maybe in the near future,” Dudina told .

Ranking points earned by athletes during the tournament will count toward Olympic qualification.
