The nominees for the 2022 annual World MMA Awards have been announced. The Fighter of the Year nomination includes Islam Makhachev .
The Dagestan fighter’s rivals for the award were Alexander Volkanovski, Johnny Eblin, Charles Oliveira and Francis Ngannou.
Makhachev is also represented in the International Fighter of the Year category, where Volkanovski, Roberto Soldic, Mateusz Gamrot and Khamzat Chimaev are also represented.
Voting for nominations is open until September 30.
Makhachev, 30, has 22 wins and one loss in mixed martial arts.
