The expert believes that in the first fight the Ukrainian was well prepared for the manner of fighting the British
Former world champion and now British television pundit Johnny Nelson believes that Anthony Joshua can count on success in a duel with a Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. To do this, the British boxer should change his own fighting style.
“Joshua needs to change his tactics. In the first fight, he tried to impose his style on Usyk, for which the Ukrainian was well prepared. Joshua went straight to Usyk’s plan.”
“Anthony knocked down the left-handed jab style. The Briton did not know how to react to the movements, began to doubt himself. Footwork and balance suffered. He wasn’t confident with punches,” the former boxer said.
“He has changed his style in the past. Joshua changed tactics against Ruiz and it worked, he came back.”
Earlier, former rival Joshua Andy Ruiz said that the Briton has a chance to win. Anthony, for this, should avoid the mistakes that Ruiz himself made in their second fight.
The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. The broadcast is organized by Sky Sports Box Office.
Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become world heavyweight champion for the first time.
