Russian boxers Magomed Madiev and Yuri Osipov underwent the official weigh-in on the eve of their fights at the next tournament of the IBA Night of Champions series in Almaty (Kazakhstan), reports correspondent.
Magomed Madiev (16-1-3, KO 5) will meet the Ecuadorian Abel Mina (17-3-1, KO 9) on Saturday April 27 in an 8-round fight in the weight category up to 75 kg. Madiev has 16 wins, one loss and one draw. Mina has 17 wins, three losses and one draw. Madiev’s weight was 75 kg, and Mina’s weight was 74.5 kg.
Multiple medalist of the Russian championships and winner of the 2022 Spartakiad Yuri Osipov (4-0, KO 3) will face Kazakh Farukh Tokhtasynov (1-0) in a 6-round fight in the weight category up to 71 kg. Osipov’s weight was 70.75 kg, and Tokhtasynov’s weight was 70.8 kg.
The International Boxing Association will use proceeds from ticket sales for the April 27 tournament to help people affected by flooding in Kazakhstan.
