Russian judokas won five medals at the European Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia.
The gold winners were Matvey Kanikovsky (weight category up to 100 kg), Inal Tasoev (over 100 kg), Kristina Dudina (up to 48 kg). Danil Lavrentiev (up to 73 kg) won silver, Tamerlan Bashaev (over 100 kg) won bronze.
The Russians entered the tournament in neutral status; their results were not taken into account in the medal count.
The European Championship ended on April 27. The Georgian team won the medal standings (2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze), the Azerbaijanis finished second (2 gold and 1 silver) and the French finished third (1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze).
