In an exclusive conversation with Athletistic, Acelino “Popó” Freitas commented on the controversy and the possible fight with Vitor Belfort; look!
In the midst of so much media, controversies and provocations, Acelino “Popó” Freitas took some time to speak exclusively to the Athletistic and comment on some of the most talked about topics of recent weeks.
In the conversation, the four-time world champion spoke mainly about Victor Belfortwho could be his next opponent, but remains in disagreement regarding the weight they both will need to make before the fight.
“Here’s the thing: Vitor weighs a lot more than me, my normal weight is 75 kg and his is 90 kg. So, I made an agreement for him to drop to 80kg, he said he could only reach 88kg, 89kg, and I made another agreement for him to go to 85kg, so it wouldn’t be me or him. But there is already another opponent lined up, which we will probably discard Vitor“, said the boxer.

Popó explained the position of choice he finds himself in, given his established career in sport. According to him, these fights are different from his professional days, as they have great engagement in the digital world.
“This fight with Vitor, I have to want it. It’s not the public, television, none of that, I accept who I want, I do what I want. Nowadays I am no longer a world champion to be challenged by the first in the ranking. In the conditions I’m in, I can choose my opponent, where I want to fight, we’ll do these fights, like I did with Whindersson Nunes, who is in entertainment and in the digital world“, he added.
Furthermore, Popó also revealed who would be the opponent who could replace Belfort in this fight, commented on the beginning of this new modality, with boxing influencers, and commented on Kleber Bambam. After a lot of tension and “trash-talk”, Acelino knocked out the ex-BBB and told him what their relationship is like nowadays.
