Earlier on Saturday, Chumgalakova won a gold medal in the weight category up to 48 kg. During the award ceremony, technical problems occurred during the performance of the anthem of the Russian Federation. After the anthem was played and the show began, the sound died down, but the audience continued to sing. Chumgalakova herself burst into tears. The Russian became a double European champion.
