The Russian boxing team won 20 medals at the European Championships in Serbia and took first place in the tournament medal standings.
Russian athletes won 11 gold medals, 8 silver and one bronze. The winners of the European Championship were Yulia Chumgalakova (weight category up to 48 kg), Darima Sandakova (up to 70 kg), Elena Gapeshina (up to 81 kg), Edmond Khudoyan (up to 48 kg) , Dmitry Dvali (up to 54 kg), Eduard Savvin (up to 57 kg), Vsevolod Shumkov (up to 60 kg), Gabil Mamedov (up to 63.5 kg), Tarkhan Idigov (up to 67 kg), Sharabutdin Ataev (up to 86 kg) and Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (up to 92 kg).
The silver medalists were Anastasia Kool (up to 52 kg), Daria Abramova (up to 57 kg), Nune Asatryan (up to 60 kg), Elena Babicheva (up to 63 kg), Albina Moldzhanova (up to ‘to 66 kg), Anastasia Shamonova (up to 75 kg), Kristina Tkacheva (over 81 kg) and Dzhambulat Bizhamov (up to 75 kg). Saveliy Sadoma won bronze in the weight category up to 80 kg.
The European Championship ended on Sunday. Russian athletes participated in the tournament with national symbols by decision of the International Boxing Association (IBA).
