Russian boxer who won the 2024 European Championship Vsevolod Shumkov announced that he will fight for the IBA professional world championship belt this summer.
On Sunday in Belgrade, Shumkov defeated Bulgarian Radoslav Semenov by unanimous decision and won the gold medal of the European Championship in the weight category up to 60 kg.
“I managed to win the European and World Junior Championships, but I was always told that winning the European Championships for men was a special feeling. Today I finally won and I am very happy with my victory. I’m growing and moving forward, getting medals. I was ready to face the final opponent and had my own tactics for him. I wanted him to strike and I responded with a series of blows. I like this fighting style.
Soon – in June-July – I will fight for the title of IBA world champion, I will meet a good opponent, the world champion from Uzbekistan. There I will test my strength again,” reports the correspondent of , reporting Shumkov’s words.
