The American boxer is striving to make a significant step in his career thanks to the Ukrainian.

David Benavidez talks about the upcoming fight with Alexander Gvozdyk. In particular, the American boxer said why he had to fight the Ukrainian.

According to Benavidez, a victory over the former world champion in the fight for the WBC interim title will make him the main contender for a fight with the winner of the confrontation between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.

“After the fight with Alexander Gvozdyk, a victory will make me the number one opponent, and I will meet the winner of the Bivol-Beterbiev fight.

Now we are completely focused on Alexander. He is a good fighter. We never let him out of our sight. Let’s take care of this guy first and then move on to the next one,” Boxing News 24/7 quoted Benavidez as saying.

We remind you that the fight between Gvozdyk and Benavidez is scheduled to take place on June 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Earlier, Vasily Lomachenko came to Australia to fight George Kambosos and made his first statement.
