The Ukrainian will receive 25% of the fee from the fight
Promotional bidding took place for the upcoming fight of the Ukrainian featherweight boxer Arnold Khegai (21-1-1, 13 KOs) and Lerato Dlamini (20-2, 11 KO) from South Africa for the title of mandatory challenger for the belt IBF.
The Top Rank company, which has recently represented the interests of the Ukrainian, offered a bid of 65 thousand dollars. However, TBG, Dlamini’s partners, outbid Top Rank’s offer – $71 thousand
Lerato will receive 75% of the royalties ($53,250), Arnold – 25% ($17,750). TBG must present signed contracts for the fight in the next two weeks and announce all the details for organizing the fight within 90 days.
In the current ranking of the International Boxing Federation, the Ukrainian ranks third, Dlamini second. The IBF announced that the winner of the eliminator will receive the vacant number one ranking and become a mandatory challenger for the championship title held by Mexican Luis Lopez (30-2, 17 KOs).
Khegay defeated Spaniard Jon Martinez in his last fight in January. The Ukrainian stopped his opponent by technical knockout in the third round.
Dlamini in his previous fight defeated Japanese Tomoki Kamedu in October 2023. The South African boxer initially planned to have a rematch with Kameda, but ultimately opted for a fight with Hegai.
