Lomachenko on the fight with Haney: I will never forget this robbery in boxing

Then all the judges gave victory to the American

Former world champion in three weight categories, Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko remembered the confrontation with Devin Haney. Vasily called this fight a “robbery.”

“I will never forget that boxing robbery. I don’t understand how this happened. You can be the best in the world, but the judges don’t agree with you. But that’s another story. Now it’s just a story, my story. After the fight, I said that I sleep very well because I know that I won this fight.”

36-year-old Lomachenko fought his last fight in May 2023, losing to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world champion. The fight lasted all the allotted 12 rounds, following which three judges gave victory to the American – 116:114, 115:113, 115:113. Many experts then considered that the result of the fight was unfair.

Lomachenko will fight George Kambosos for the vacant IBF lightweight belt on May 12. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, starting approximately at 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
