Freestyle wrestler Inalbek Sheriev became champion of Russia by winning the pre-Olympic tournament in the Moscow region.
Sheriev, competing in the weight category up to 70 kg, defeated Kurban Shiraev in the final. Magomed-Emi Eltemirov and Turpal-Ali Khatuev became bronze medalists.
In the weight category up to 79 kg, Magomed Magomaev won gold, Gadzhimurad Alikhmaev took second place, Khalid Yakhiev and Akhmed Manilov took third place.

women’s wrestling, up to 53 kg: 1. Natalia Malycheva; 2. Milana Dadasheva; 3. Daria Khvostova and Angelika Vetoshkina;
women’s wrestling, up to 57 kg: 1. Olga Khoroshavtseva; 2. Marina Simonian; 3. Veronika Chumikova and Kristina Mikhneva;
women’s wrestling, up to 62 kg: 1. Ekaterina Koshkina; 2. Amina Tandelova; 3. Inna Trazhukova and Anna Shcherbakova.
