Russian boxer Dmitri Bivol could find another opponent for the tournament on June 1 in Saudi Arabia, reports journalist Mike Coppinger on the social network X.
Initially, Bivol was supposed to fight for the title of absolute world champion in the light heavyweight category against his compatriot Artur Beterbiev, but he suffered a torn meniscus and will not compete until at least September.
Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Entertainment Turki Al al-Sheikh said the Bivol-Beterbiev fight would take place in late 2024.
Bivol, 33, has 22 wins in 22 fights and holds the WBA Super championship belt.
