At the end of 12 rounds, all judges gave a confident victory to Canelo
Absolute world champion in super middleweight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (61-2-2) defeated another Mexican Jaime Munguia (43-1) and retained their titles.
Canelo had the advantage from the start of the fight. In the fourth round, Alvarez knocked down Munguia, but Jaime managed to return to the fight. At the end of the match, all three judges recorded the victory of the current world champion – 117:110, 116:111 and 115:112.
The boxing evening took place in American Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. The WBC provided a special trophy called the Tamaulipas Belt.
Alvarez won his fourth victory in a row. Munguia suffered his first defeat in his career, and was also knocked down for the first time.
