The former three-division champion made a statement regarding his future in boxing.
Vasily Lomachenko is preparing to hang up his boxing gloves. As the Ukrainian boxer himself said, his career is over, because athletes do not compete in the lightweight division for a long time.
At the same time, the Olympic champion of Beijing 2008 and London 2012 refused to name the exact date of the end of his career.
“If we talk about age in boxing and weight categories, I agree – I’m already old. What about super heavyweight? At 36 years old, many heavyweights can just start. But my career is about to end. How many years one, two, three, but I think I still have strength.
Exactly how many years will I continue to fight? I don’t know myself yet. This is a difficult question. At this age, every fight is difficult. It’s not easy to recover after fights,” Fox Sports quoted Lomachenko as saying
We remind you that Lomachenko will have his next fight on May 12 against Kambosos, with the vacant IBF lightweight title at stake.
In the past, the ex-world champion said that Lomachenko is getting older, but at the same time getting better.
