Grebnev thinks Teixeira, not Ankalaev, will be eligible to fight for UFC light heavyweight title

AMC Fight Nights Fighter Alexander Grebnev believes that the Brazilian Glover Teixeira has an advantage over the Russian Magomed Ankalaev in terms of qualifying for the UFC light heavyweight title.

UFC 277 will take place on the night of July 31 in Dallas (USA). The main card will feature two Russian fighters – Magomed Ankalaev and Sergey Pavlovich. Ankalaev is ready to fight Anthony Smith at light heavyweight.

– I will not be surprised if Teixeira fights for the title. He lost, but the fight was very spectacular and tight. And the Brazilian’s authority allows him to count on revenge. It would be logical to organize for him a reciprocal fight with Prochazka,” Grebnev told RT.

Teixeira, 42, fought Czech Jiri Prochazka in June and lost by rear naked choke.

American Anthony Smith, 34, has won 36 times in mixed martial arts and lost 16 times. Ankalaev, 30, has won 16 times, losing once.
