The Ukrainian showed 61.01 kg on the scales, the Australian – 60.84 kg
Former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KO) and Australian boxer George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) passed the weigh-in procedure before the fight for the vacant IBF lightweight belt.
The fighters showed almost equal weight. Lomachenko recorded a result of 61.01 kilograms (134.8 pounds), Kambosos – 60.84 kilograms (134.2 pounds). After the weigh-in, the boxers again had a duel of glances.
The fight between Vasily and George will take place on May 12. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, starting at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
Let us remember that in May 2023, Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney in the fight for the title of absolute world champion. In turn, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxie Hughes in his last fight, winning the IBO lightweight title.
