Lomachenko: The plan was to adapt to the opponent

The Ukrainian won by technical knockout in the 11th round

IBF and IBO Lightweight World Champion Vasily Lomachenko commented on his plan for the fight with the Australian George Kambosos.

“My plan was to adapt to my opponent. This is what I did in battle. Towards the end of the fight I needed to show strength. In the last three rounds I was trying to find his body.”

“We have trained hard for this moment. I want to thank my opponent. He is a strong man and a true warrior.”

Lomachenko defeated Kambosos by technical knockout in the 11th round. The Ukrainian knocked down his opponent twice, and the third time the judge stopped the fight early.

The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF lightweight belt, which was previously vacated by his previous opponent Devin Haney. Vasily also took away the IBO belt, which Kambosos owned.
