Athletistic/Boxing. The new absolute heavyweight world champion, Alexander Usik (22-0, 14 KO), defeated Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KO) by split decision.

In the ninth round, the referee began counting Fury’s knockdowns while he was still standing but about to fall. This was the second consecutive fight in which Tyson was knocked down – in October 2023, he was knocked down by Francis Ngannou.

In total, this is the eighth knockdown of Fury’s career. Four of them took place in three fights against Deontay Wilder, the rest in fights with Steve Cunningham and Neven Pajkic.

The fight lasted all 12 rounds and Usyk won by split decision – 115-112, 114-112, 113-114.

Prior to this fight, Fury had 35 fights, scoring 34 wins (24 by knockout) and one draw. This is the first defeat of the Briton’s career.
