Konstantin Tszyu: ‘For a rematch with Fury, they probably made Usik win’

Victory for Alexander Usik over the Briton Tyson Fury favors a rematch, says former outright junior welterweight champion Constantin Tszyu .

Saturday in Saudi Arabia Spin Fury won by split decision and became the undisputed heavyweight champion. Usik became the first absolute heavyweight champion of the 21st century. He had 22 victories in 22 fights. Fury suffered the first defeat of his career. The Briton also has 34 victories, and another match ended in a draw.

“To my great regret, I watched this fight on the road. That is, it was not possible to look carefully. But from what I saw, I agree with the judges’ decision. The fight was equal,” reports the correspondent, according to Tszyu’s words.

— A rematch is planned for October.

—That’s why they probably made sure Usik won.

– Does Fury have a good chance of winning a rematch?

– I don’t know. We are not talking about victories and defeats, but about everything they have won. That’s all. There is an expression “money talks”. And there, I see that it is a purely financial fight.

“Based on business logic, Fury winning the rematch is far more profitable to stage a third fight.

– Here is a good result for you.

— Did Fury or Usyk surprise you with anything?

— I was more surprised by Usyk. He’s done a good job handling the inconvenience Fury presents to his opponents.
