Keyshawn Davis: Me and Berinchyk is a great fight. We must do this in 2024

The 25-year-old American calls himself a rising star and is hungry for a title shot

American boxer Keyshawn Davis reacted to the mention of his name as the WBO lightweight champion Denis Berinchik after his victory over the Mexican Emmanuel Navarrete.

“A fight with Berinchik would be interesting because he loves to fight, I love to fight too. Fighting for the title will naturally make me more aggressive. This will be a shootout that fans will love. When I wrote about it, the fans responded really well, so I think they’re excited. We have to do it this year.”

“I have abilities, skills, strength, power, IQ. I’m a complete fighter. Smart fighter. I’d like to mix it up with you. My mentality is that there is never a dull moment in the ring. Berinchik will force me to give my best – I will fight for my first title. Now that he has the title, we’re going to come back.”

“I am a rising star in this sport. I’m invincible. Great talent. I feel like no one can deny it now. They might say I’m inexperienced. It’s just obvious. That’s why I’m here. That’s why I’m calling for a world title fight right now. I will give the fans what they want: a new star in the sport so the sport can continue to grow. I feel like me and Berinchyk is a great fight.”

Let us remind you that on the night of May 19 in San Diego, America, Berinchik defeated Navarrete by a split decision and won the long-awaited WBO world lightweight title.

Immediately after the fight, Denis, answering the question with whom he would like to fight next, named (among others) Keyshawn Davis.

The 25-year-old American, silver medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games (in the category up to 63 kg), will enter the ring against Miguel Madueño on July 6 in Newark (New Jersey) on the undercard of the title fight between Shakur Stevenson (he is also on the list of potential opponents of Berinchyk) and Artem Harutyunyan.
