Athletistic / Boxing. The absolute world boxing champion in the heavyweight category, Ukrainian Alexander Usik, has been suspended from fighting. This happened after his victory over Briton Tyson Fury.
According to BoxRec, the British Boxing Council suspended Usik from boxing for two weeks, until July 2, 2024. This was due to some of Alexander’s (unnamed) injuries. It is worth noting that Tyson Fury did not receive any suspension at the same time.
On May 18, a boxing evening will take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). In the main event of the tournament, Oleksandr Usyk fought Tyson Fury in a 12 round fight. The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with the victory of the Ukrainian by split decision.
At the age of 37, Alexander Usik had won 22 victories in 22 fights in the professional ring. Fury, 35, now has 34 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.
