Russia’s first UFC champion Oleg Taktarov told RBC-Sport that the victory Sergei Pavlovich on American Derrick Lewis marked the start of the Russians’ dominance in the promotion’s heavyweight division.
Pavlovich inflicted many blows on the opponent in the first round, the referee stopped the fight, counting Lewis a technical knockout.
– Pavlovich doesn’t look weaker than Ngannou. The way he won his last fight using psychological tricks… I finally waited for our fighters to dominate in the heavyweight category. It looks like this Rubicon will pass and our fighters will continue to dominate,” Taktarov said.
For Pavlovich, 30, this is the 16th victory of his career.
