A champion in three weight categories, Malykhin explained why he decided to leave Thailand

A champion in three weight categories, Russian fighter Anatoly Malykhin in a conversation with , he said it was easy for him to decide to leave Thailand and return to Russia.

Malykhin has 14 first victories in MMA. In his last fight in March, he defeated Dutchman Rainier de Ridder by third-round TKO to win the ONE middleweight belt. For several years, Malykhin has lived in Thailand.

— The decision to move was easy. I missed Russia, I missed my parents. You know… I plunged with pleasure into a cold river – in the Volga. I swam in Tom. I soak up this freshness. Now I am on the train to Altai. I will enjoy our nature. I’m just happy to spend time with my loved ones. After all, we lived very far away and I was gone too long. You know, I’m visiting friends now. Generally, I have a blast.

— What did you miss most about Thailand?

– Mom’s hug. Now I hug my mother and father with great pleasure. I realized that work is work, movement is movement and that we are only in this world for a moment. And you have to enjoy family time. I see how happy my grandmothers and great-grandmothers are to see my son Leva. I especially missed my family.

— Have you sold real estate in Thailand for a profit?

— The property was rented. But a car is not profitable… The Thais still accepted a bribe from me (laughs).

— Now in Thailand there are only training sessions?

– There will mainly be training. But my camps are long. If the fight takes place elsewhere, we will fly there to acclimatize.

— When should we expect your next appearance in the octagon and at what weight?

– Definitely heavy. Now the question of the date is being decided, but for now my manager Anita Malykhina tells me to keep quiet (laughs).

But now I will perform at heavyweight, then at 93 kg. And 102 kg… Yes, I am ready to fight whatever the weight. For me, gaining weight is not a problem. I liked the way I looked at 93 kg. I have so many photos at that weight, I even had abs. I looked tough, but I couldn’t hold it back. Now I already weigh 115 kg,” Malykhin told .
