Jake may enter the WBC rankings in the near future
Boxer and video blogger Jake Paul (5-0, 4 KOs) announced the possibility of a duel against the absolute world champion in super middleweight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (57-2-2, 37 KOs).
“I think my possible fight with Canelo will be one of the greatest fights in boxing. I know I can beat him.”
“Bivol showed that Canelo can be beaten. I have the style, speed and power that Bivol has. So it’s not going to be the best night for Canelo when we meet in the ring.”
Paul has five victories in five professional fights. In December, Jake knocked out former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
August 6 in New York at Madison Square Garden will be a duel between Paul and light heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr. (12-1, 6 KOs). The winner of the fight will enter the WBC rating.
Alvarez will fight Gennady Golovkin on September 17 for the title of undisputed world champion in the second middleweight category. The fight will take place in Las Vegas.
The first fight between Canelo and Golovkin in September 2017 ended in a draw. A year later, the Mexican won by split decision.
In May, Alvarez suffered the second defeat of his career, losing to Russian Dmitry Bivol in a fight for the world light heavyweight title.
