The fight will take place on June 1 in Saudi Arabia
Promoter Eddie Hearn expects competitive fight between mandatory challenger for IBF title Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) and British heavyweight Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs).
“Everyone has been talking about Hrgovic for a long time. The guy always looked good in the ring. He is a highly trained fighter.”
“On the other hand, Dubois, this is a good time for him because he got a boost from the Miller fight. In the last fight, Daniel lived up to the demands of people who doubted him, but Hrgovic is a different animal compared to Jarrell Miller.”
“We have never seen Hrgovic fight a young and explosive heavyweight. If Daniel gets into a fight with Philip, who knows how things will turn out?”
“Hrgovic starts out fast and is a very accurate puncher early in the fight. Sometimes it can be a little sloppy and as a result power is lost. If Dubois doesn’t earn respect in the first rounds, then everything will end quickly for him.”
The fight between Hrgovic and Dubois will take place on June 1 in Saudi Arabia. Also as part of a large-scale boxing evening, a fight between Deontay Wilder and Zhang Zhilei will take place.
Dubois knocked out Jarrell Miller in December 2023, and Hrgovic defeated Mark De Mori from Australia by technical knockout in the first round at the same boxing evening in Riyadh.
