The second fight of the Ukrainian and British boxers will take place in Saudi Arabia.
Frank Warren, Tyson Fury’s promoter, explained why the second fight between the Briton and Alexander Usik will take place at the end of December.
According to the functionary, such a long break between the first and second matches was no coincidence. So, the boxers needed time to recover, and besides, the Ukrainian was allegedly injured. All this put together makes it impossible to hold a second fight in October.
“We saw an incredible fight. The biggest fight of the 21st century. They both gave it their all. They want to fight again, so be it.
The rematch was postponed because, I think, one of them – not Tyson, but Usyk – was injured. That is why he will not be suitable on the original date.
However, this would be the perfect time for a battle. Let’s give them time to recover from such a tough fight. I hope we see an equally amazing performance,” Dazn told Warren.
We remind you that Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision and became the first absolute heavyweight champion since 1999.
Previously, a well-known coach explained why the Usyk-Fury rematch will not take place in October.
