On Thursday, a memorial plaque in honor of famous judo and sambo coach Anatoly Rakhlin was unveiled in St. Petersburg. One of his students is the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
— My father raised a sea of athletes, of champions. In fifty years of continuous work, he raised 10,000 boys and girls.
In the last years of his life, he said there were disciples, but there was no home to come to. We are now on the threshold of the Olympic reserve school. This is the house he left behind, this house bears his name. The father’s name will be immortalized on a commemorative plaque. It’s very important for me and for my family,” reports correspondent Mikhail Rakhline.
