A memorial plaque in honor of famous judo and sambo coach Anatoly Rakhlin has been unveiled in St. Petersburg. A correspondent reports this from the scene.
The painting was installed on the facade of the Olympic reserve sports school named after AS Rakhlin on Kondratievsky Prospekt.
The event took place in the presence of the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.
— I would like to once again congratulate everyone on the anniversary of our city. On this day we honor the memory of our great athlete and coach Anatoly Rakhlin. He lived in this city during the siege of Leningrad, after which he opened a judo school. Rakhlin raised strong people with iron character.
