Former super middleweight champion George Groves believes that Oleksandr Usyk will be even stronger in his second fight against Anthony Joshua. In an interview on the SecondsOut YouTube channel, he said that Anthony Joshua needs to immediately change the way he fights, otherwise he will lose another fight to a Ukrainian.
“Joshua can’t come out and be like he was in the first fight. I think people are doing a disservice when they say he should go back to his old ways. Joshua never came out to cut and use force .He has always been quite metaphorical in terms of his fighting technique.
People thought that after the fight with Andy Ruiz, Joshua was more scared. I don’t think this is the case. I think he needs to use a jab to show his strength and hit Usyk. You have to hit first, you can’t hit Usyk, because he’s too fast and uses the corners well.”
Joshua is tiring as the fight progresses, but he needs to think this is a 6-round fight, not a 12-round fight, and try to knock Usyk out. He has a size advantage.
