2020 Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Gable Steveson has become a player for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL), reports ESPN.
According to the source, the 23-year-old athlete has signed a rookie contract with the club, valid for three seasons.
“I’ve been fortunate to compete at the highest level of my sport, but I’m excited to see how my wrestling skills can translate to American football,” Steveson said, as quoted by ESPN.
Steveson at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo became the best in the weight category up to 125 kg. In the final match he defeated three-time world champion Geno Petriashvili of Georgia.
