Parker: Fury will improve and beat Usik in rematch

The first fight brought victory to the Ukrainian

Interim WBO world champion Joseph Parker predicted the outcome of the second fight between the absolute heavyweight world champion Alexander Usik and former WBC belt holder Tyson Fury.

“What will happen in the rematch? Tyson will win. He will learn a lot of lessons after the first fight. When you get the experience of a 12-round fight, you become a better person. Both will be better in the second fight, but Tyson will win.”

On the night of May 19, Usik inflicted the first defeat of Fury in his professional career in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.

Usik became the first absolute world heavyweight champion in the era of four belts. In the heavyweight division, the last time Lennox Lewis held absolute status was in 1999, but then three titles were enough for this title.

It was reported that an agreement had been reached between Usyk and Fury for a re-fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option. The second fight between Usyk and Fury will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
