The head of the boxing organization spoke about the status of the upcoming fights in the heaviest division.
The International Boxing Federation has not yet decided whether to strip the championship title from Alexander Usik.
IBF President Daryl Peoples commented on the information at stake in the fight between former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and the organization’s interim belt holder Daniel Dubois will be the organization’s belt, currently owned by the Ukrainian boxer.
According to him, there is no decision on this issue yet. Currently, the preliminary decision continues to be valid, according to which the title remains with the Ukrainian boxer.
“Dubois is the interim champion and the new mandatory challenger.
It is too early to say if the Joshua-Dubois fight will have the entire IBF title on the line,” Boxing Scene quotes Peoples as saying.
