The Ukrainian absolute world champion noticed the power of the blows from the British boxer.
Oleksandr Usik named the critical moment in the fight with Tyson Fury, when he almost lost to the Briton.
According to the absolute champion, the Briton delivered his punches powerfully and accurately, so Usik had to pick up the pace and change tactics in order not to lose.
“Did I adjust after Fury’s uppercuts? Maybe. When I missed the uppercut, it hurt a lot.
I felt great pain for about five seconds and said, “Lord, help me.” I said to myself, ‘Hey, Alexander, move, move, because if you stop, he’s going to kill you,'” Usyk said on the 3 Knockdown Rule podcast.
We remind you that Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision and became the first absolute heavyweight champion since 1999.
It was previously known that Usik could change the weight category again.
